About Me!

Nadia Bauman, otherwise known as Catsnore, is an illustrator, designer, and writer based in Cleveland, Ohio. She is passionate about children’s picture books, toy design, and merchandising. Having graduated with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from the Cleveland Institute of Art, Nadia majored in Illustration and minored in Creative Writing.

    Inspired by scary campfire stories from all around the world, food that’s so delicious you go for seconds, the beauty of nature and all its inhabitants, and the wonders of the imagination, Nadia has an interest in both the spooky and the cutesy, and often combines these two aesthetics to form captivating, unique, and whimsical narratives for everyone to enjoy. Working primarily in digital media, her fantastical work focuses heavily on textured line art, lively compositions, vibrant color palettes, and a plethora of loveable - and sometimes monstrous - characters. Busy creating from her home studio, Nadia happily continues to work on her personal shop, commissions, exploration of bridging the sweet and the scary together, and reading all of her stories to her pet cat, Nemo, who’d rather be sleeping.

What Will This Blog Be About?

This blog will be a space for me, Nadia, to write about my experiences being an illustrator, a small business owner, writer, and overall creative! During my time at CIA, I had been told by a handful of professors about the benefits of having a blog. While they did not post every single day, they found having a place to write and relax generated a small group of like-minded individuals and ultimately formed a community. Having that sense of community would be fantastic and sounds rather wholesome - I hope that mine is alright with be sharing a million pictures of my pets!! :D 

I am still figuring out how this program works (I have found that it is not super user friendly, haha), so bear with me. Hope to write more about my life as an artist and other topics soon!! 🩵
